Why Are My Twitch Emotes Blurry? (And How to Fix It)
Blurry emotes come from scaling the wrong way. Here's the right export process.
Blurry emotes usually mean you uploaded one size and let Twitch scale the rest, or you scaled a small image up. Always export each size from a large master.
Never upscale
Going from 28px to 112px invents pixels and produces mush. Draw or export your master at 112×112 minimum — ideally larger, then scale down.
Export all three yourself
Upload 112, 56 and 28 as separate files rather than relying on automatic resizing. You control the sharpening; Twitch's scaler doesn't care about your line weight.
Watch the file type
PNG with transparency. A JPEG re-saved as PNG keeps its compression artifacts and looks fuzzy at small sizes.
