Twitch Chat Commands Every New Streamer Should Set Up
A dozen commands that answer the questions you'd otherwise retype every stream.
Commands exist so you stop answering the same five questions mid-gameplay. Set these up in Nightbot, StreamElements or Moobot in about ten minutes.
The essential set
!socials, !schedule, !discord, !specs, !setup, !commands. These cover the overwhelming majority of what chat asks a small channel.
Stream-specific ones
!game (what you're playing and why), !mods (game mods you're using), !seed for roguelikes, !build for RPGs. Update them when you switch games so they don't go stale.
Community commands
!lurk, !hydrate, !uptime and a running counter (deaths, fails, coffee) give regulars a way to participate without needing you to respond.
Don't overdo it
Twenty commands nobody remembers is worse than eight everyone uses. Keep !commands short and pin the important ones in your panels too โ the panels in each pack give them a home.
Panels for everything chat asks
About, schedule, socials and rules panels in one matching style.
