Streamlabs vs StreamElements: Which Alert System?
Both are free and do the same job. The differences that actually matter for a small channel.
Both are free browser-source alert systems that work in any streaming software. StreamElements is generally lighter and more customisable; Streamlabs is more polished out of the box.
StreamElements strengths
Everything runs in the cloud, its overlay editor is powerful, and its chat bot is included without a separate app. Good if you like tinkering.
Streamlabs strengths
Friendlier setup, more themes ready to go, tighter integration if you also use Streamlabs Desktop.
What actually matters
Whichever you choose, replace the default alert graphics. A stock alert on a themed channel undoes the theme in one notification โ that's the real decision.
Adding custom alerts
Both let you upload your own image and sound per alert type. Drop in the animated alerts from your pack and the whole channel matches.
Don't run both
Two alert systems means double alerts and confusion. Pick one and delete the other's browser source.
Replace the default alerts
Animated follow, sub, gift and donation alerts in your channel's style.
