How to Stream With Friends (Co-Streams and Guests)
Getting a second voice on stream, keeping audio clean, and sharing a look across channels.
The usual setup: talk on Discord, capture their audio as a separate OBS source, and give them a visible spot on screen. Separate audio sources is the part people skip and regret.
Capture Discord separately
Use an Application Audio Capture source (or a virtual cable) for Discord rather than lumping it into desktop audio. Separate sources mean you can balance voices and mute one without muting everything.
Give guests a presence
A second camera frame, a PNGTuber, or even a labelled card. Viewers should be able to tell who's speaking without guessing.
Watch for echo
If your guest hears themselves, it's usually your speakers feeding back into your mic. Headphones on both ends fixes it permanently.
Twitch Guest Star
Twitch's built-in Guest Star handles video guests without extra software and pipes them into OBS as a browser source — simpler than a full Discord setup for one guest.
Share the look
