How to Stream on Kick: A Setup Guide for Beginners
Kick's setup is close to Twitch's with a few differences. Here's the whole flow, including where your overlay goes.
Kick uses the same RTMP flow as Twitch, so if you've streamed anywhere before this takes about ten minutes: get your stream key, paste it into OBS, set your bitrate, add your overlay, go live.
Get your stream key
In Kick: Creator Dashboard โ Settings โ Stream Key. You'll get a stream URL and a key. Treat the key like a password โ anyone with it can stream to your channel.
Point OBS at Kick
In OBS: Settings โ Stream โ Service: Custom, paste the stream URL as the server and your key below it. Under Output, set your video bitrate โ check what your connection can hold with the free bitrate calculator.
Add your overlay
Identical to Twitch: animated screens as Media Sources with Loop on, stills as Image Sources. Overlay packs aren't platform-specific โ a 1920ร1080 pack works on Kick, Twitch and YouTube alike.
Fill in the channel page
Set your title, category and thumbnail before going live, and add an offline banner so the page isn't blank between streams. The same pack that covers your Twitch look covers Kick too.
One pack, every platform
Twitch, Kick, YouTube and TikTok โ sized and exported for all of them.
