How to Stream Art Commissions (Setup and Boundaries)
Streaming client work is great content and a business risk. Here's how to do it safely.
Streaming commission work builds trust and fills hours, but you're showing someone else's paid piece in public. Get permission first, in writing, in your terms.
Ask before you stream it
Put a line in your commission terms about streaming the process, with an opt-out. Some clients want a surprise reveal, and streaming it anyway is a real problem.
Protect personal details
Don't show client names, references containing private information, or payment screens. Keep your reference images in a folder you're not screen-sharing.
Show your prices
A commission panel with pricing and slots open turns viewers into clients. Most people won't ask if they can't see the terms.
Set working boundaries
Chat will suggest changes. Be clear that revisions come from the client, kindly but firmly, or you'll end up designing by committee.
Frame the canvas
Use a slim overlay that leaves the artwork room โ see overlay ideas for art streams, or spec a custom one with the brief generator.
Spec your own look
Turn a few answers into a ready-to-send brief for a custom overlay.
