How to Add Alerts to OBS (Follow, Sub, Donation)
Alerts run through a browser source. Here's the exact setup, plus why yours might be invisible or silent.
Alerts come from an alert service (Streamlabs, StreamElements, or similar), and you add them to OBS as a Browser Source using the alert box URL — not as an image or media file.
The setup, step by step
Copy your alert box URL from your alert service dashboard. In OBS: Sources → + → Browser, paste the URL, set width 1920 and height 1080, and tick Refresh browser when scene becomes active. Position it where you want alerts to appear.
Why your alert is invisible
Most often the browser source is below another source in the list — drag it to the top. Failing that, hit Refresh cache of current page in the source properties; alert boxes go stale after long sessions.
Why you can't hear it
Browser source audio needs Control audio via OBS enabled, and the source's volume must be up in the Audio Mixer. Also check the alert's own volume slider in your alert service — it defaults low.
