How to Add a Webcam Frame in OBS (and Line It Up Properly)
Two sources, right order, one crop trick. Five minutes to a camera that looks designed.
A webcam frame is a transparent PNG or WEBM that sits above your camera source. The whole job is source order plus alignment.
Order matters
In the Sources list, the frame must be above the Video Capture Device. If it's below, the camera covers it and you'll think the file is broken.
Size the camera to the frame, not the reverse
Place and size the frame first, then scale your camera behind it until the edges tuck neatly underneath. Hold Alt while dragging a camera edge to crop instead of squash.
Fix the aspect ratio
Most cameras are 16:9. If your frame is square or portrait, crop the camera rather than stretching it — stretched faces are instantly noticeable.
Group them
Select both sources → right-click → Group. Now you can move and resize the camera and frame together without them drifting apart.
